ISEQ begins year on positive note

The ISEQ index of Irish shares began the new year on a positive note today, closing up 76.23 at 2,419.50.

Among the notable risers were CRH, up 55c to 18.40; Elan Corp, up 36c to 4.53, and FBD Holdings, rising 25c to 7.75.
