Irish bank shares have surged amid speculation that the Government was in talks with international private investors about the possibility of them pumping money into the Irish banking system.
Bank of Ireland moved back above €1, rising 9.45% to €1.02 in early trading while Anglo Irish Bank went up 20.31% to €1.
