Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez said he intends to nationalise the Bank of Venezuela, which is owned by Spain’s Santander banking group.

Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez said he intends to nationalise the Bank of Venezuela, which is owned by Spain’s Santander banking group.

“We are going to take back the Bank of Venezuela to put it at the service of the Venezuelans,” Mr Chavez said in a televised address.
