Affordable-homes site sees lots of interest

There have been nearly 16,000 hits on the new website www.affordablehome.ie since its launch on June 25, the Affordable Homes Partnership said today.

Saying the site traffic numbers showed there was still "a clear demand for affordable homes despite the economic downturn", chairman of the Affordable Homes Partnership Des Geraghty said: "…People are still looking for good value affordable housing. When housing is offered for sale at the right price, the demand is clearly still there.

"The website makes searching for an affordable home easier so it is extremely encouraging to have registered such interest already."

Information on the new website is translated into Polish, Lithuanian and Chinese as well as Irish.
