UK supermarket Morrisons posts 7% sales growth

Supermarket chain Morrisons kept up the pressure on its rivals today after unveiling further strong sales growth.

The retailer saw like-for-like sales excluding fuel rise 7% during the quarter to May 4, a figure higher than the 4.6% reported for the financial year to February 3 but down on the 9.5% rate achieved over the Christmas period.
