Petrol costs rise as oil prices soar

Motorists face having to fork out yet more for petrol after oil prices reached a new high today near $114.

Drivers across the country paid a record average of €134.30c for a litre of unleaded yesterday, according to the AA. Diesel also cost a record €145.72c – or €6.61 a gallon.
