Bank of Ireland Asset Management said today that its indexation business in Ireland now manages in excess of €10bn on behalf of Irish institutional investors.

This business was established in 2001 and is carried out in conjunction with State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management arm of State Street Corporation, the largest institutional fund manager in the world.

Head of index investing at BIAM, Ken Casey, said: "The growth in indexation reflects the increasing demand for low-risk, cost effective access to investment markets. From indexed equity funds to real estate, commodities and emerging markets – we can provide world-class indexed solutions.

Managing director of SSgA UK, Kanesh Lakhani, said: "We are delighted to congratulate BIAM on achieving this €10bn milestone.
