There were small gains in the Irish Stock Exchange by close of trade today, with the ISEQ index up 36.38 points to 6756.45.

There were small gains in the Irish Stock Exchange by close of trade today, with the ISEQ index up 36.38 points to 6756.45.

The financials did well overall, chief among them Irish Life & Permanent, which jumped 31c to 11.12. Anglo Irish Bank (up 15c to €9.50) and Bank of Ireland (up 3c to €10) also did well. Allied Irish Bank inched down 2c to €15.09.
