Airbus confirms China airlines contract

Taiwan’s China Airlines has signed a contract for the purchase of 14 Airbus A350-900 jets and taken another six on option, the European plane-maker said today.

Taiwan’s largest carrier signed a letter of intent for the purchase in December, and has now finalised the contract, Airbus said in a statement.

China Airlines intends to begin using the medium capacity, long-haul jets in 2015.

The A350 will primarily be deployed on the airline’s long-haul routes to Europe, Australia and the United States.
