Eurostat reports no change in euro zone inflation rate

The EU's Eurostat data agency has said that inflation in the euro zone stayed at 3.1% in December.

The rate, which confirms a previous estimate and was also in line with economists' forecasts, leaves inflation above the the European Central Bank's preferred level of almost 2%.
