Growth in mortgage lending continues to fall
Growth in mortgage lending is continuing to fall, according to the latest figures from the Central Bank.
They show that the rate of increase fell from 15.1% in October to 14.2% last month.
This continues a trend of a 1% drop in mortgage lending growth every month since the start of the year.
A total of 6b€n was loaned by banks and credit institutions to Irish residents last month.
This represents the lowest growth rate in private sector credit since October 2003.
