ISEQ makes modest gains

The ISEQ-index of Irish shares rallied this evening to record a 1.79% increase closing at 7370.62 points.

The financial heavyweights all reported increases with AIB leading the way jumping 37c to €16.10. Anglo Irish Bank was up an impressive 34c to €11.58. Irish Life and Permanent ended the day in positive territory up 23c to €14.23 and Bank of Ireland gained a modest 4c to €11.02.
