ISEQ plummets in morning trading

The ISEQ index of Irish shares had a dismal morning falling 143.49 points to 6624.98 by 11.20am.

The negative trend spread throughout all sectors with the financial heavyweights some of the worst hit. Irish Life and Permanent fell 61c to €12.62. AIB didn't fare much better dropping 41c to €13.65. Bank of Ireland saw its stock fall 15c to €9.82 with Anglo Irish Bank down a modest 12c to €9.
