The value of Irish shares fell by close to 2% today, as the ISEQ index plunged 134.26 points to 7276.90 by 11am today.

The value of Irish shares fell by close to 2% today, as the ISEQ index plunged 134.26 points to 7276.90 by 11am today.

The financials did not do well, but avoided any major losses. Worst among them was Anglo Irish Bank, down 35c to €10.60, with Allied Irish Bank not far behind, down 33c to €15. Bank of Ireland fell 16c to €10.94, with Irish Life & Permanent down 15c to €13.68.
