The value of Irish shares declined my almost 1.7% today, as the ISEQ index fell 130.22 points to 7615.54.

The value of Irish shares declined my almost 1.7% today, as the ISEQ index fell 130.22 points to 7615.54.

The financials suffered, with Irish Life & Permanent taking the biggest hit by far, collapsing 84c to €14.08. There were heavy losses in the rest of the sector also however, with Allied Irish Bank down 38c to €16.32, Anglo Irish Bank sliding 28c to €11 and Bank of Ireland shedding 23c to €11.92.
