Pudsey pens recalled in UK amid choking fears
Faulty Children In Need pens are being recalled because they could pose a choking hazard, a retailer said today.
Pudsey Bear figures on top of some affected pens have broken off, which means the product does not meet quality control standards, according to Asda.
The supermarket chain has pulled the £1 (€1.40) pens from sale and is asking customers to return them to stores for a full refund.
Asda said the problem came to light in one of its stores and had not prompted any customer complaints.
“Although nobody has been hurt, we are asking anyone who has bought one of these pens to bring it back to their nearest store where they will be given a full refund. You don’t even need your receipt,” the retailer said in a statement.
The Pudsey Bear pen is part of a range of merchandise sold at Asda to raise funds for the Children In Need charity.
