TCH chief praises Junior Chamber group
The work of Junior Chamber Ireland (JCI) has been praised by Anthony Dinan, group managing director of Thomas Crosbie Holdings (TCH) Ltd, owners of breakingnews.ie, the Evening Echo, Irish Examiner, Sunday Business Post and 15 other papers in this country and the UK.
His comments came at the organisation’s national convention at the Sheraton Fota Island Golf Resort and Spa, attended by 250 delegates including Junior Chamber International World president Scott Greenlee from the USA and 22 former national presidents.
“The work of JCI is invaluable in helping young people develop leadership skills,” Mr Dinan said.
TCH was delighted to provide sponsorship of the prizes for the seven winners of the outstanding young people of the year awards.
The winners had provided exceptional service to their communities.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin welcomed the delegates and praised the work of Cobh Junior Chamber in organising the three-day conference.
Deirdre Pearson, JCI Cobh’s National Convention director and all her team had done an excellent job in organising an event which was worth €250,000 to the local economy.
He also praised Cork Airport marketing manager Kevin Cullinane, a former JCI world president.
The Minister was speaking at a black tie dinner at the Sheraton to celebrate the 50th anniversary of JCI.
Amongst those taking part in event were John Farrelly of ACCORD, the voluntary Catholic organisation which works to promote a deeper understanding of Christian marriage and to offer people the means to safeguard and nourish their marriage.
Social justice campaigner Fr Peter McVerry, Senator Dan Boyle of the Green Party and MEP Kathy Sinnott were also at the conference.
