2006 best year on record for Enterprise Ireland firms

Enterprise Ireland says 2006 was the best year on record for companies it supports, despite a slowdown in the economy.

The business promotion group says total export sales increased by more than 12% on the figures for 2005.

Despite the weakening dollar and high oil prices, the organisation is also predicting strong growth in 2007.
