UK Coca-Cola workers to strike
Workers at the biggest UK distribution centre of drinks giant Coca-Cola are to stage two 48-hour strikes in a row over pay, it was announced today.
New super-union Unite said the walk-outs on July 26-27 and August 13-14 at the site in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, will have a “significant impact” on the supply of Coke and other drinks such as Dr Pepper and Oasis to stores across the country.
The union also announced that its 400 members at the plant will start a continuous overtime ban next week, which it is said will also hit supplies.
