ISEQ makes modest gains
The ISEQ-index of Irish shares made modest gains this afternoon up 6.36 points at 9298.39.
Share prices were boosted by news that AIB has extended its foothold into Eastern Europe.
The bank announced today its plans to purchase mortgage finance business, the Baltic-American Enterprise Fund AmCredit, which operates in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
The deal is worth around €40m. The banks shares have yet to feel the effect of the promising news slipping 29c to stand at €20.21 today.
Meanwhile IL&P gained a 30c boost at €18.69.
Anglo Irish slipped 3c at €15.09 with Bank of Ireland gaining 16c at €14.94.
