ISEQ sees modest rise
The Dublin stock exchange saw a modest three-point rise this morning.
By 11.15am the ISEQ was at 9682.67 after a 3.69 rise.
The biggest risers were Elan up 35c to €11.10 and construction firm Kingspan, up 24c to €20.80. Kingspan's rival CRH saw their stock fall 25c however to stand at €35.
Other fallers were shipping group Irish Continental and Paddy Power, both down 15c to €21 and €20.25 respectively.
The financials were generally positive as the Bank of Ireland climbed four cents to €16.22, Anglo Irish went up two cents to €17.08 and AIB increased by a modest one cent to €22.58. Irish Life and Permanent fell five cents to €19.70.
It was announced this morning that the Magners cider brand in Britain has again lifted profits at drinks group C&C.
The group has reported that its profits almost doubled in the year to the end of February .
Operating profits soared 77% to €212.6m, as turnover climbed 27% to €981.4m and margins grew by six points to 21.7%. Prices on the stock exchange remained stable at €12.50.
