Anglo Irish Bank has issued a positive trading statement for the first five months of the fiscal year, expecting earnings per share (eps) in the six months to March 31 40% ahead of the same period last year.

Anglo Irish Bank has issued a positive trading statement for the first five months of the fiscal year, expecting earnings per share (eps) in the six months to March 31 40% ahead of the same period last year.

The figure excludes the €22m pre-tax profit made from the sale of Isle of Man trust activities in December.
