Pirates deliver happy Christmas for Amazon

Online retailer Amazon today said appetite for pirates and wizards helped it achieve its best Christmas in the UK.

The Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Man’s Chest DVD was Amazon’s number one selling product in the fourth quarter of the year to December 31, while pre-orders for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, due out on July 21, drove the book to the top of the best seller charts just hours after it was announced on December 22.
