New orders boost manufacturing in January

The manufacturing sector expanded for the 41st month in a row in January, as indicated by the seasonally-adjusted NCB Purchasing Managers’ Index.

The index isan indicator designed to provide a single-figure measure of the economic health of the manufacturing industry and registered 52.3 last month. A measure of 50 would indicate no change from the previous month.
