Fast food firms are fighting back against the anti-junk food push, reporting profits that are positively healthy, even if the food may not be.

The news this week that McDonald’s European profits were up nearly 10% last year, thanks in part to strong sales in the UK, added to upbeat results from fast food chains, suggesting these firms have not yet been resigned to the “sin bin” as many had predicted in the aftermath of the critical documentary film Super Size Me.
