More investment needed despite record visitor numbers

Fáilte Ireland is warning the Government that the tourism industry needs huge investment in the year ahead despite record visitor numbers last year.

Almost 7.5 million visitors came to Ireland in 2006 and spent an estimated €5.9bn.
