Four in 10 Europeans using the euro still have difficulty handling the currency – five years after it went into circulation, according to a survey released Thursday. The currency fares best in Ireland, where 81% say they have no problems using it.

Many big purchases, such as homes and cars, are still being priced in old currencies rather than the euro, the survey said.
