Irish Stock Exchange winds down with slight decline

There was a slight decline in the ISEQ index today, dropping 3.26 points to 9314.22, as traders looked forward to the Christmas break.

There were several small declines, balanced out by some reasonable gains. The biggest loss of the day came in the financial sector, as Allied Irish Bank had a torrid time, slumping 45c to €22.55. There was little movement elsewhere in the sector, with Irish Life & Permanent slipping 1c to €20.99, with Anglo Irish Bank (up 8c to €15.50) and Bank of Ireland (up 6c to €17.33) both making modest gains.
