Icon, FBD best performers on ISEQ

The ISEQ gained 42.88 points to close at 8926.91 today.

Technology company Icon was the biggest gainer, making €1.00 (3.8%) to €27.50.

FBD closed up €1.28 (3.1%) at €42.50.

Anglo Irish Bank gained 43c (2.9%) to €15.27.

Allied Irish Bank, the day’s busiest share, slipped 25c (1.2%) to €21.45, after saying its target for underlying earnings growth this year was unchanged.

Irish Life and Permanent lost 6c to €12.30, while Bank of Ireland closed down 5c at €16.70.

Kingspan made 46c (2.7%) to €17.72. CRH closed up 33c (1.1%) at €29.10.

C&C finished the day up 6c at €12.30. CEO Maurice Pratt was named Business Person of the Year by Business And Finance Magazine last night.

Tony O’Reilly picked up a lifetime-achievement award at the same ceremony.
