Amicus members at BoI to strike over new pension scheme
Hundreds of Bank of Ireland staff are to take strike action in the next few weeks as part of a dispute over a new pension scheme.
Five hundred members of the Amicus trade union have voted to take the action following the bank's decision to scrap its defined benefit pension scheme for new staff.
Unions say it will create a two-tier system.
The Irish Bank Officials Association, which represents around 8,000 workers at the bank, are holding off on a ballot for industrial action until after a Labour Court hearing on the issue next week.
