Ireland's inflation rate has fallen back to 4% after reaching its highest level in three and a half years earlier this autumn.

Ireland's inflation rate has fallen back to 4% after reaching its highest level in three and a half years earlier this autumn.

The Central Statistics Office said today that rising interest rates continued to drive inflation during September, but were being offset by price decreases for petrol, diesel and home-heating oil.
