Cliffs of Moher recruitment drive begins
The first phase of a recruitment campaign for over 100 staff at the new Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience site in Co Clare will get underway later this month, it was announced today.
The campaign will initially focus on filling permanent and peak season positions including maintenance operatives, rangers, and customer service and administration staff.
Cliffs of Moher Centre will place recruitment notices in the local and national print media this week while an open evening will be held in the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon, Co Clare on Wednesday from 4-8pm.
Director of the Cliffs of Moher New Visitor Experience Katherine Webster said: "One of the main elements of the recruitment campaign is a localised direct marketing programme whereby people from Clare are given every opportunity to become part of the Cliffs of Moher workforce.
"It is only right that local people directly benefit from the €31.5m Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience - one of the biggest projects of its kind to be developed in the county."
Ms. Webster added: "The creation of over 100 jobs at the world famous site is excellent news not only for north Clare, but for the entire county. The new positions will also complement the site's improved visitor facilities, which are nearing completion and are due to open in early 2007.
"The opening of the visitor centre building and external facilities will also be complemented by the introduction of a new approach to visitor management at the location. These developments will see the Cliffs of Moher become the flagship of Irish tourism."
