Quinn Direct to create 1,000 jobs in next five years
Insurance company Quinn Direct is reportedly set to create 1,000 jobs at three locations in Ireland during the next five years.
Reports this morning say 700 of the new positions will be created in Navan, Co Meath, and the remainder in Co Cavan and the Blanchardstown area of Dublin.
The move, which has been prompted by Quinn Direct's growth in the UK, will bring the company's workforce close to 2,500.
Details of the new jobs are due to formally announced by Minister for Enterprise Micheal Martin later today.
Quinn Direct was set up by Fermanagh-based entrepreneur Sean Quinn in 1995 and has since grown into Ireland's third-largest insurer.
At the end of June, it reported profits of €123m for the first half of 2006, up 38% on the same period last year.
