IFA: Greencore should not get EU compensation
The IFA has dismissed a claim by Greencore that the company is entitled to €131m in EU compensation for the shut-down of the sugar beet industry in Ireland.
The Farmers Association has pointed out that Greencore properties no longer involved in sugar production are worth nearly €200m. The IFA wants beet growers to receive the bulk of the compensation.
