Citywest convention centre denied planning permission

An Bord Pleanala has refused to give permission for the completion of a 6,000 seater convention centre at Citywest in Dublin.

The project had originally been given the go-ahead by South Dublin County Council last October.

The board says that such a major project would be better suited in a city centre or major town centre with better public transport links and other facilities.
