Lagan announce record results
Lagan, Irish building materials, engineering and development business has announced record results for the year ended 31, March 2005.
Lagan - which restructured its entire business in 2005 - experienced sustained growth in each one of its five divisions, delivering a combined profit of £27m (€38m) for the year.
Michael Lagan, Managing Director, said: "We completed a successful merger within our engineering business now newly launched as Lagan Construction.
"This focused strategy and the combined efforts of our loyal 1300 strong workforce, has helped us to both double profits and increase turnover by 130% over the last five years."
Founded in the 1960s and now one of the North's largest employers, Lagan operates worldwide with a portfolio including civil engineering, construction and materials products & services.
Current international projects include airport contracts in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, the expansion of the Port in Bridgetown, Barbados and a major pipeline contract in Fiji.
In Britain, Lagan contracts include the redevelopment of Luton Airport.
And in Ireland, Lagan Construction is completing the strategic A1 Loughbrickland dualling project as well as playing a leading role in the modernisation of the North's water infrastructure.
