Equity investments out-stripping property: BoI

The pace of growth in equity investing by Bank of Ireland Private Banking overtook property in 05/06, the bank said today.

"This represents a reversal of the pattern of the previous year and indicates that Irish high net worth investors are moving in line with longer term norms across Europe," the bank said in a statement.

According to Feri Fund market information, €25bn was invested in equity markets across Europe in both January and February this year.

Bank of Ireland Private Banking today also announced a strategic partnership with US real estate firm AEW Capital Management, who will be sourcing property deals in the US market on behalf of private banking clients.
