Employers seek overhaul of financial services legislation

The employers' body IBEC is seeking a major overhaul of the legislation that governs the financial services sector.

IBEC group Financial Services Ireland says existing laws are overly complex and inflexible and need to be updated to help Ireland compete internationally.

It said this would benefit the whole economy because the sector contributes a substantial amount of tax to the Exchequer.
