The overall outlook for the Irish economy remains good, according to the Central Bank's first quarterly bulletin of 2006. The Bank is forecasting GNP growth for 2006 of about 4.5% (GDP 4.75%), in line with the economy's potential growth rate and close to that of the past couple of years.

Inflation is expected to run at 2.25%.
