Credit & debit card stamp duty reduced to €15 for 2006

Credit and debit card stamp duty is to be cut by 25% for 2006, it was announced this afternoon.

The Government will levy the tax in January instead of April from now on, and this year it will take just €15 per card instead of the normal €20.
