The Labour Relations Commission is reportedly set to arrange talks aimed at averting a threatened strike by Dublin Bus drivers.

Members of the National Bus and Railworkers Union voted in favour of strike action six weeks ago over the introduction of EU limits on working hours.

SIPTU has not held any strike ballot, but it also believed to have concerns about the new limits and the effect they will have on drivers' ability to earn overtime pay.

Reports this morning said the LRC had held informal discussions on the matter and moves to avert the potential strike were set to begin within 10 days.
