Chancellor Gordon Brown today piled on the pressure on France to give ground on European farm subsidies in order to save world trade talks.

Following a meeting of finance ministers from the G7 group of industrial nations in London, Mr Brown said that both Brazil and India – who were also attending – were prepared to move on tariffs on industrial goods and on services in the World Trade Organisation talks.
