Hundreds of banana and sugar farmers from the Caribbean staged a peaceful street march in St. Lucia yesterday to protest recent trade rulings that they fear will hurt their vital crop exports.

Chanting “We shall overcome,” the US black civil rights hymn, and “Get up, Stand Up,” the protest song composed by reggae legend Bob Marley, the protesters marched to Derek Walcott Square in the capital, Castries.
