Eircom profits boosted by broadband demand

Telecommunications giant eircom is attracting around 2,000 broadband customers every week, figures showed today.

As the company revealed pre-tax profits of €77m for the three months to the end of June 2005, it reported 156,000 clients had signed up for the high speed internet service.
