Growth plan for South East unveiled
The key regional priorities for securing economic growth and enterprise development in the South East have been identified in a report launched by the South East Chambers in Wexford this afternoon.
The report, launched today by the Minister for the Environment Dick Roche, identifies six key economic priorities that are vital for enterprise growth in the region.
Improving transportation access within Ireland
Developing international transport linkages
Creating a university of the South East
Investment in life long learning at all levels
Developing a sustainable environment
Developing and promoting leisure opportunities
On foot of the report, the South East Chambers are to commission a South East Business Plan to develop the business case, outlining the key actions over the next 15 years to address these economic priorities.
The taskforce has called for a steering group to be established to oversee the development of the business plan.
This group will comprise representatives from the South East Chambers, the regional higher education providers, the regional development agencies (IDA, Enterprise Ireland and South East Tourism) and the City & County Managers Association.
