10% hike in available jobs: Online index

There has been a 10% increase in the number of jobs available, according to the second Online Employment Index by recruitment website IrishJobs.ie.

The index, which covers the three months from February to April this year, includes about 232,000 jobs.

Regionally, Munster saw the highest level of growth, with an increase of 22% in jobs advertised since January. Munster now accounts for 13% of all jobs advertised.

Dublin accounts for almost three quarters of job vacancies. The rest of Leinster recorded 8% of total jobs, while Connacht accounted for 6%.

Accountancy and finance, banking, financial services and insurance were again the strongest recruitment sectors, recording the highest number of job vacancies each month.
