MG Rover bosses to blame - report
Most engineers blame management and previous owners at MG Rover for the carmaker’s collapse, according to a new report today.
A survey of 400 engineers showed that a third said the current management were responsible for the crisis while a similar number blamed previous managers and owners.
Around 7% pointed the finger of blame at the British government and 4% said workers and unions were responsible.
Most of those polled by Professional Engineering magazine said the planned partnership between MG Rover and the Shanghai Automotive Engineering Corporation was never a realistic prospect.
Few of those questioned said they expected car production to resume at the Longbridge plant in Birmingham.
