The Government has confirmed the national minimum wage is increasing to €7.65 per hour from May 1.

The Government has confirmed the national minimum wage is increasing to €7.65 per hour from May 1.

It comes on foot of a recommendation from the Labour Court.

The Minister for Labour Affairs, Tony Killen, has approved the rise because he says the minimum wage had fallen behind increases in average earnings.
