New car registrations fell in 2003, says CSO

The number of new private cars licensed for the first time in 2003 was 142,992, a decrease of 5% on the figure for 2002, the CSO has revealed.

There were 13,472 second-hand private cars licensed in 2003, compared with 13,352 in 2002, an increase of 0.9%.
