Shaky day for ISEQ
It was a fairly poor day for the ISEQ, which fell 11.17 points to 6540.63.
Ormonde Mining announced that it had bought back 50% of a gold-mining interest in Spain from MinMet, and managed to haul itself up 1c (6.2%) to €0.14. MinMet was unchanged at €0.04.
There were mixed fortunes for the financials. Irish Life and Permanent dropped 27c to €14.43.
Anglo Irish Bank lost 14c to stand at €19.26 mid-morning. AIB was unchanged at €15.50.
Bank of Ireland, the day’s busiest share, was up 5c at €12.25. Bank of Ireland Life today announced an increase of 21% in new business sales for 2004.
Kerry Group dropped 14c to €18.16 as it announced a planned €20m investment programme in China.
The company said today that it was planning to establish manufacturing, technical and administrative facilities in three different parts of the country over the coming years.
Elan fell back from significant gains this morning to close up 6c at €21.85.
Building materials company CRH lost 5c to €20.80, while Ryanair, which announced new sale offers today, was down 6c at €5.75.
